Celebrating Father's Day
Strengthening little hands
It was one of the children's favourite time of the year again, Pyjama Week. Everyone was excited to wear their colourful printed pyjamas and show their friends what they would normally wear to bed.
Even the teachers loved wearing their pyjamas to work.
To celebrate pyjama week we watched the children's favourite movie at the moment 'Frozen', while eating delicious popcorn.
Pyjama week gave the children a sense of being as they recognised the significance of the here and now in their lives. Children's being relates to the present and them knowing themselves, building and maintaining relationships with others and engaging with life’s joys.

St Patrick's Day Celebrations 2014
We love getting into the Irish spirit and celebrating St Partick's Day. All the children were involved in lots of activites during the day.
The Lilli Pilli room created Leprechaun portaits, decorating them with lots of gold glitter. They also helped Dalia to cook bread, adding herbs to make it green.
The Acacia's had lots of green activities going on in the room. The children's favourite was the green collage experience, especially because they had lots of green glitter.
The Waratah room was very excited to discover that a Leprechaun had left them a treasure map to a pot of gold in their room. The children examined the map and went on a treasure hunt to find where it had hidden the pot of gold. The children were very pleased with themselves when they found the pot of gold outside in the garden at the end of the rainbow.
Slumber Party 2014
All the children were very excited to venture back to Top Ryde Early Learning for a night of fun and games at our yearly Slumber Party. They all arrived in their comfortable pyjamas and slippers. The theme of our slumber party this year was 'Drive In', so all the children were given the opportunity to make their own cardboard cars ready for when it came time to relax and watch a movie.
After playing games and being involved in fun actitives the children collected their cars they had made and parked them at the drive in. They ate popcorn and fruit while enjoying a movie together.
All money raised from the slumber party has been donated towards the Bandaged Bear Foundation, which is very close to our hearts.
Excursions to the Library
February Sports on the Oval
A group of children from the Acacia and Waratah room went on an excursion to the oval next door to participate in some sporting activites with our Sport Co-ordinator Scott.
The children embraced the large open area, running back and forth to warm up their muscles. Activities were set up around the oval and the children got involved in each experience. Scott would demonstrate the activity and the children would follow by copying what he had shown them.
All the children had such a fun time getting active and using the oval in our community. We are looking forward to next months Sports on the Oval.
